MALAYSIA–CHINA TECHNICAL PROGRAMME (MCTP) 2026
UPSKILLING AND RESKILLING THE MALAYSIAN WORKFORCE THROUGH HIGH-TECH INDUSTRIAL TRAINING IN CHINA
The Malaysia–China Technical Programme (MCTP) 2026 is an international workforce development initiative designed to strengthen the technical competencies of Malaysian employees through specialised training and industrial exposure in the People’s Republic of China.
The programme provides Malaysian employers with an affordable opportunity to develop a future-ready workforce through exposure to emerging technologies, advanced technical practices, modern manufacturing systems and China’s high-tech industrial ecosystem.
MCTP 2026 combines Pre-Departure Training in Malaysia with High-Tech Industrial Training in China.

Training in China will be conducted at selected technical and vocational education and training institutions recognised or designated by the relevant authorities of the People’s Republic of China.
The participating institution will be matched according to the employer’s selected training area, participant requirements and programme availability.

HIGH-TECH TRAINING AREAS
Employers may nominate employees for training in areas such as:
Semiconductor and Microelectronics
Industrial Robotics and Intelligent Automation
Smart Manufacturing and Industry 4.0
Electric Vehicle and Intelligent Mobility
Battery and New Energy Technologies
Industrial Artificial Intelligence
Advanced and Precision Manufacturing
Smart Quality and Predictive Maintenance
Smart Logistics and Intelligent Warehousing
Employers requiring training in other technical areas may indicate their requirements through the Employer Interest Survey. Special training requests are subject to programme suitability, participant numbers and approval by the relevant training institution in China.
PROGRAMME STRUCTURE
MCTP 2026 will be implemented in two phases:
Phase 1: Pre-Departure Training in Malaysia
Duration: 3 daysImplementation period: September 2026
The Pre-Departure Training will prepare participants for the technical training and learning environment in China.
The training will include:
Basic industrial Mandarin
Basic technical terminology
Chinese workplace culture
Cross-cultural communication
Programme orientation
Travel and departure preparation
Attendance at the Pre-Departure Training is compulsory for all confirmed participants.
For employers nominating at least 10 employees, the training may be considered for implementation at the employer’s premises, subject to suitable arrangements and approval.
Phase 2: High-Tech Industrial Training in China
Duration: 10 daysImplementation period: October 2026
The training may include:
Technical classroom learning
Practical and hands-on training
Technology demonstrations
Case studies
Exposure to advanced equipment and systems
Industry or technical visits, subject to approval by the relevant authorities or institutions in China
Professional and cultural exposure
Final training dates and institutions will be confirmed after the closing date and completion of the institutional matching process.
PROGRAMME FEE
RM3,850 per participant
The programme package includes:
Return flight ticket
Accommodation
Meals
Local transportation in China
Pre-Departure Training in Malaysia
Technical training in China
Training materials
Programme certification
Travel insurance
Programme coordination
Participant support and official accompaniment
The programme is implemented under the HRD Corp Claimable Courses (HCC) initiative, subject to the applicable terms, eligibility requirements and approval by HRD Corp.
Employers are responsible for ensuring that their applications and supporting documents comply with the relevant HRD Corp requirements.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Participation is open to Malaysian employers seeking to upskill or reskill their existing employees.
Employers may nominate employees who:
Are currently employed by the participating organisation
Are suitable for the selected technical training area
Are medically fit to travel and participate in the programme
Hold a valid Malaysian passport
Are able to complete both phases of the programme
Meet any additional requirements specified by HRD Corp or the selected training institution
Mandarin language proficiency is not compulsory.
Complete the Employer Interest Survey
Employers are encouraged to complete the survey as early as possible to facilitate programme planning and institutional matching.
Submission of the Employer Interest Survey indicates the employer’s preliminary interest only. It does not constitute a formal application, confirmation of participation or guarantee of placement in the programme.
